The Silent Companions av Laura Purcell - ypperlig gotisk stemning, men det ble aldri helt skremmende


     The darkness was absolute - her eyes refused to adjust.

It wasn't like London; there were no streetlamps outsie.

She was forced to inch along, feeling her way forwards.


Det har vært få bøker å like i det siste. Det går lenger og lenger tid mellom godbitene, men heldigvis var ikke denne så verst.

Evie slipped the key into her handbag. She hadn't had a key back in Zenith; her every move had been monitored by her parents. Things would be different here. Things would be perfect. She went to hug Uncle Will, who stuck out his hand for a shake.
