Den andre boka i DC Morgan serien. Den første boka het: Den siste festen. Løgnernes spill er om et realityprogram som har tatt fullstendig av, og som er en smule kontroversiell. Programmet blir satt på spill da det blir et åsted. Kan programmet fortsette?

Sylvia ender i en utrolig knipe mens hun tar et raskt måltid før jobbintervu. Det er ikke hennes dag, helt til hun kommer i kontakt med en mann som ser ting fra hennes synspunkt, og han tilbyr henne en jobb. Hans kone er pleietrengende, og selv om hun har en fast sykepleier, tilbyr han Sylvia om å bo hos dem og holde henne med selskap de timene han er på jobb. Hun blir fristet, men noe med stedet hans gir henne gysninger. Det er veldig avsides, og Victoria, hans pleietrengende kone vil at Sylvia skal lese hennes dagbok. Hvorfor?
